The forsythia shrub is one of the first to come into bloom into the spring. Their bright yellow blooms announce spring has arrived. These shrubs are easy to care for, hardy and can be used for a variety of purposes in the landscape. Now, while supplies last, all our Forsythia are 20% off.
Forsythia prefer a full sun area and are often used as a hedge plant. If a more wild look or a grown in hedge is the goal, leave them unpruned. If you prefer a more manicured look, we recommend pruning forsythia every year, right after they bloom. This will help them maintain a uniform shape. We recommend pruning them after bloom because forsythia bloom on the prior year's growth, the older branches. When you prune right after they are finished blooming it is easy to tell the new branches from old, therefore preventing homeowners from accidentally pruning off next year's blooms.
